Gasway complete the Cumbrian Challenge
Two teams from Gasway successfully completed the Cumbrian challenge, a 600M ascent followed by a 16km hike across 3 peaks in Cumbria.
Together they raised £5,440 for Walking with the wounded, and in the process became the second highest fundraisers from out of 130 teams taking part.
Established in 2010, Walking With The Wounded supports a pathway for vulnerable veterans to re-integrate back into society and sustain their independence. At the heart of this journey is employment.
Reflecting on the successful fundraising Andy Merrill said,
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone for their sponsorship, whether you contributed £1 or £1,000 every penny mattered. You gave us the motivation to keep moving when the going got tough. I’m delighted that together we’ve raised so much for such a good cause. ”
Donations were received from PTS, Honeywell, Vaillant, LGB Plumbing and Heating, ADEY, Northgate and Stelrad all of which have already expressed an interest in bringing their own teams to the 2020 challenge.
