Flagship’s Communications Team sleeps out on the street, so others don’t have to.

It was a cold and wet night for our communications team, who took part in the Benjamin Foundation’s ‘Big Sleep Out’ last night, which saw over 200 people come together to raise money  for those who face the harsh reality of sleeping on the streets every night.

The event which takes place in November each year aims to raise awareness of the issue of homelessness in our region, whilst raising much-needed funds to help tackle youth homelessness in Norfolk.

There are 103,000 homeless young people in the UK (source: eyh.org.uk) and The Benjamin Foundation provides a home and support to over 100 vulnerable young adults locally, each night.

Claire Wright, Head of Communications said, “It was great for us to take part in the big sleep out this year. The event was so incredibly humbling in understanding the stark reality of homelessness and what it might feel like for people who experience it. The Benjamin Foundation do such worthwhile work, a cause very close to our hearts, that we were delighted to support”.

Flagship have raised over £1200.00 to date and all the money raised will go towards helping prevent more young people ending up on the streets. It will also help support local people, by providing them with the skills to forge an independent life.
